How to Build Credibility among Team Members from Another Culture?

One of the best ways to do this is to have an open and honest discussion about the cultural differences and similarities in the team. Ask them to bring something that represents their own culture and to present it to the others in the team. This quickly leads to further discussions and dispels cultural bias and stereotypes.

In my workshops I use specially developed photo cards which I place on the table. I ask each team member to pick out 3 cards that could represent their own cultural influencers and/or behaviours.

Then I ask them to make a 2 mins presentation based on the cards they chose. After this I encourage them in small groups to discuss and ask each other questions to remove assumptions and pre-conceived ideas.

Only by having open and honest discussion can we enhance and build greater cultural understanding.
