It was not only the practical business tools with which Jackie was able to provide me that were so beneficial, but the softer skills of mindfulness, approach and adaptability which have proven so valuable to me, both personally and as a manager, since we began working together.

Jackie has particularly assisted me with tools for team building and development, essential as most of the team were new, including guidance on mentoring individuals and specific situations.  She has also been invaluable in providing guidance and ways forwards in other areas, such as managing challenging colleague situations.  Her warmth, presence and wise counsel, and her ability to bring out the best solutions, have given me the tools I’ve needed to grow and develop as a manager.  I look forward to continuing to work with Jackie as a management coach as my career progresses

Jackie was very good at pushing me to remember/articulate what my own needs and aims were and helping me think about what I really want to achieve.  She helped us turn this into an entirely productive and proactive opportunity.

Jackie’s approach is focused on enabling rather than providing advice. I think that works very well. Jackie very good at bringing out the best in people.

I would recommend her services to anyone!

Jackie's support has been invaluable in helping me to clarify objectives and roles & responsibilities for a centre of competence with about 1800 employees. Thanks to the coaching I could enhance my time management and communication skills, which were essentially needed to satisfy my double reporting lines in Hamburg and Toulouse.

The skills and knowledge displayed by her also helped me to improve my extreme stress resistance and capabilities in the areas of remote management, delegation and trust.

Jackie also facilitated cross-cultural team meetings and gave me feedback on my leadership style.

I have found my sessions with Jackie enjoyable as well as productive and she is a trusted confidant and mentor. I would have no hesitation in recommending Jackie as a trustworthy executive coach of high integrity.

I have been amazed at the difference having Jackie as my coach supervisor has made both to my coaching practice and to the way I feel about my work. I knew that professional supervision with Jackie would be beneficial, and it has greatly exceeded my expectations.

Jackie has such a natural, warm and steady presence where I feel really listened to and valued. Her skill and expertise is evident in the way she always creates the right conditions for me to learn from my experiences and grow personally and professionally.

The blend of quality coaching combined with Jackie’s experience of business, particularly in the Health and Social Care Sector has been perfect and I want to thank you Jackie for being there at just the right time. I don’t know what I would have done without you!

I would highly recommend Jackie for her leadership coaching and for the support that she has given to us. Jackie is both knowledgeable and experienced as a coach and I would highly recommend Jackie for both 1-2-1 and for implementation of ILM coaching programmes.  We used her excellent book “Coaching Skills for Leaders in the Workplace” on our ILM 7 programme.

“I have taken on a senior role in a large complex organisation. …

I found Jackie’s coaching style and book “Coaching Skills for Leaders” accessible and practical and with her carefully chosen anecdotes, she managed to create an environment in which my colleagues learned and felt comfortable trying out coaching techniques.  I also noticed how she flexed her responses to meet the needs of all of us given that we were such a diverse group.

This was seeing someone “walk the talk” and as such she is a great role model for all aspiring coaches.

I hope this helps you help others as you have helped me.

Hi Jackie, just a short note to sincerely thank you for all your support and wise coaching this year. In particular, for convincing me (initially a sceptic) of the value of coaching and giving me the opportunity to realise that I can assist individuals to make a real difference in their working lives.

The ‘Coaching Skills for Leaders’ book was a great guide and addition to the course

I would consider Jackie to be an excellent and personable coach who maintains high levels professional standards at every level of coaching. She demonstrates integrity, builds rapport easily, has coaching presence, listens carefully and communicates in a powerful and positive way.

I attended a 12 month small business coaching programme from which was delivered by Jackie and another colleague. Jackie was assigned as my personal coach. During this programme I derived many benefits, namely:

  • Support and belief in my abilities to succeed
  • The framework to build a successful business
  • Improved self esteem and self confidence
  • Sharing ideas/issues with others
  • Identifying goals and taking positive action to achieve them
  • Workable tactics to help me achieve my goals.

As a consequence of the coaching programme, I have reduced my working week to three days for my employer, to enable me to build my business as a self employed consultant.

I am very grateful to Jackie for all the support, empathy, perception and energy she has given me during the past 12 months and look forward to working with her in the future

Dear Jackie

Thank you so much for the trouble you took to prepare our session this afternoon - and for the ease with which you delivered it. You made the whole thing look so easy - and maybe that's how you saw it - but what I saw was an elegant learning design incorporating a good stretch for anyone prepared to take it up. I got a lot out of it.

All the best until we meet again

We have been fortunate to have Jackie Arnold, a very experienced and knowledgeable coaching practitioner as course tutor. Jackie’s experience has provided good solid functional teaching at a skills level, ample practice and feedback session to demonstrate the flow and process and build understanding of how and what coaching is, the benefits and how to embed it into SHG. This met standard learning expectations.

In line with the higher level of personal engagement required for successful coaching relationships Jackie has demonstrated and encouraged a reflective coaching practice. This has been confirmed and consolidated in the two telephone sessions and ad hoc queries.

This was particularly helpful when dealing with a clinical psychologist as a coachee who could very easily use her specialist knowledge and skills to challenge my practice and (apparent to me) novice skill level.

Discussion with Jackie led to me simplifying my approach and focusing only what matters to the client. This session in particular overcame a large hesitation and doubt both with that series of sessions and my practice overall.

Reflection on this instance has taught me the coachee had power to, but no interest in, wasting her time by criticising (which was my main fear) and had at least some belief in me and the process to help her with her issues. And it did.

The act of doing and engaging was both satisfying and encouraging. Her approach as a coachee was very different to my earlier experiences because she was clearly used to unpeeling issues and needed to be kept on track and guided back to the topic in consideration.

“I have taken on a senior role in a large complex organisation. …I met with my first coachee from the organisation and began an exciting journey which was both fascinating and enlightening…… Having discussed various tools and techniques during the CMI workshops led by Jackie Arnold and practiced with colleagues, I was amazed to see how they could unlock someone’s thought process and enable them to consider their situation in a completely different way”

I found Jackie’s teaching style accessible and practical and with her carefully chosen anecdotes, she managed to create an environment in which my fellow students learned and felt comfortable trying out coaching techniques.  I also noticed how she flexed her responses to meet the needs of all of us given that we were such a diverse group of students.  This was seeing someone “walk the talk” and as such she is a great role model for all aspiring coaches.

I hope this helps you help others as you have helped me.

I have used some sessions to develop specific pieces of coaching work and Jackie’s questions have enabled me to get much clearer focus on what exactly I need to do next. Her versatility has meant that any situation I have brought to the table has been handled in just the right way for me to move forwards on it as required...I have found my true direction and gained more understanding of where my future work can be more successful in meeting my hearts’ desire and my financial needs.

Jackie Arnold initially came to Regent’s University London via the Leadership Foundation to run a Coaching Skills for Line Managers short workshop. At this workshop, as well as the line managers developing coaching skills for working with their own teams, it became obvious that embedding a coaching culture would assist us with leadership and organisational development. We have therefore been working with Jackie over the last 9 months to put in place the Regent’s SPIRIT Leadership Coaching Programme. SPIRIT, which stands for Self Directed, Purposeful, Inspirational, Reflective, Innovative and Transformational, reflects a programme in which our leaders put themselves forward for coaching as part of self-identified development. They are coached by one of 7 internal coaches who Jackie is supporting through the ILM Level 7 Certificate in Executive Coaching and Mentoring. I would highly recommend Jackie for her training and also for the support that she has given to us in the implementation of programme. Jackie’s approach is to fully support the programme and therefore has been available for advice and guidance even when not at the university. Jackie’s guidance in implementation of the programme have been invaluable and currently includes discussion regarding how we will implement supervision to support our programme once the training is complete. Jackie is both knowledgeable and experienced as a coach and I would highly recommend Jackie for both one off short workshops and also for implementation of coaching programmes.

I want to record how invaluable, thought provoking and career enhancing I found the CMI course at University of Hertfordshire During May and June 2012 delivered by Jackie Arnold. I have subsequently invested in “Coaching Skills for Leaders” and “The Coaching at Work Toolkit” and it has made me realise how brilliantly Jackie wove together the various strands that coaches use to enable coachees to develop.

The coaching process has made me stand back from my day to day activities and look at how I am managing and leading the organisation. As a result of the coaching I have put in place a number of changes in the way I lead the organisation and how I manage my day.
